We began the new year on a high note 🎵🎶, honoured as recipients of the prestigious Kanaka Award 🏆 for our contributions to education and society. This annual award, bestowed by the Revanasiddeshwara Education Society in Dharwad, recognises the impactful work of organisations dedicated to the greater good across various fields. Receiving this recognition reaffirms our commitment to empowering minds and enriching lives through music education 🎓🎵. We are deeply grateful for this acknowledgement that will inspire us to reach even greater heights 🙏🌟. |

Singing Stars Excel in Competition
|
Continuing our annual participation in the competitive inter-school Pratibha Karangi event, we are thrilled that three of our talented students - 🎤 Pooja Dyabimath, Kaveri Karigar in Light Music, and Vijaylaxmi Rayannavar in Folk Song - impressively made it to the district-level finals. We are immensely proud of all three students for their exceptional performances to reach this prestigious level.
A special congratulations to Kaveri and Vijaylaxmi who out shined the competition and secured first place in their respective categories! 🎉 For Kaveri, this marked the final round, capping off an incredible journey. 🏆 Vijaylaxmi's brilliant folk singing continues to inspire as she now advances to the highly anticipated state-level finals coming up in February. We eagerly await witnessing her talent on the grandest stage. 🤩 |

Partners Power Positive Change

The last few months have seen an outpouring of generosity and goodwill from several esteemed partners. We feel immensely blessed to welcome two new partners - the EdelGive Foundation and Price Waterhouse Cooper - into the KSV family. 🤗
EdelGive's support will empower enriching activities within our Performing Arts Department. Meanwhile, the grant from Price Waterhouse Cooper ensures our campus is illuminated sustainably with the installation of solar street lighting. ☀️
Heartfelt gratitude extends to our longstanding partners as well. BSN Quantitative Research's generous contribution towards operating costs reinforces crucial functionality. Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies' enduring commitment to the same further strengthens our foundations. Last but certainly not least, Danfoss's additional funding boosts the construction of two new eco-friendly hostels. 🙏

Flag Hoisting Heralds Excellence Awards

On the auspicious occasion of Republic Day 🇮🇳, January 26th, KSV joined the nation in commemorating the adoption of the Indian Constitution with great patriotic fervour 🎆. The day began with a ceremonial unfurling of the national flag, the Tiranga, and singing of the national anthem 🎶. This was followed by the annual Professor A.V. Rama Rao Awards for Excellence in Teaching 🏆, instituted by Shri Dinkar Rao to honour his father's legacy as a dedicated educator. These awards recognise outstanding teachers for their invaluable contributions towards shaping young minds 👨🏫.
Congratulations to this year's well-deserved awardees 🎉 - Mehaboobali Shaikh from the Academic Department, and Anita and Shashikala from the Performing Arts Department. Their passion for teaching has positively transformed many young lives. We salute their inspiring dedication to the noble cause of education for our nation's future 🙌. |

The celebrations continued with an event organised by the 8th and 9th standard students which saw various groups presenting a special program of short skits thematically tied to Republic Day as well as the school's core values of integrity, compassion, equity, cooperation and achievement 🎭. Their creative performances filled the air with patriotic spirit 🇮🇳. |
Campus Mentorship Empowers Dreams

Mid-January marked an exciting milestone with the College Students Meeting at KSV. 🎉 Reflecting our enduring commitment to supporting students beyond 10th standard in their higher education journey, we currently assist over 70 college students, around 10 of whom still reside on campus. This meeting creates a valuable forum for open and enriching discussions. 💬 During the engaging session, students enthusiastically shared updates on their progress, achievements and aspirations. 📈🏆🎯 We collaboratively discussed important matters to further empower their growth and success. 💪 A highlight was the second instalment of a new regular Q&A feature where senior students Tejashweni and Parsuram patiently guided junior students through an interactive session. 🤓💡 Their insights into the realities of college life provided invaluable glimpses into the exciting path ahead for 8th to 10th standard students. 👀👨🎓👩🎓 We take immense pride in fostering an environment that nurtures lifelong learning. 🌱🧐 Through such initiatives, students gain confidence to soar to new heights in realising their dreams. 🚀💭 |

Miraj Artistry Enriches Musical Journeys

KSV is thrilled to embark on an exciting artistic journey with the generous support of the Indian Foundation for the Arts. 🎉 This semester, a special project immerses our music students in the rich legacy of Miraj and its renowned artisans. 🎶
Miraj, a cultural gem in Maharashtra, has earned a reputation for crafting exquisite stringed instruments like tanpuras, sitars and sarods. The art form flourished under the visionary Faridsaheb Sitar-maker in the 18th century, and his descendants continue this revered tradition. 🙌
The first two enlightening phases have ignited students' curiosity. Phase one unfolded on campus through workshops and lectures delving into Miraj's captivating history. 🏫 Phase two saw student groups make field visits to witness the artisans' masterful skills firsthand. 👀
With great excitement, we eagerly await Phase Three in the coming months. Miraj artisans will visit KSV to conduct hands-on workshops exploring the nuances of various instruments and their manufacturing techniques. 🤝 Stay tuned as we celebrate the rich legacy of Miraj and its artisans 🎊 |

Musical Magic Honours KSV Founder
|
Early January saw KSV host a soul-stirring music program organised by the Kala Samvahana Trust. 🎶 The event beautifully commemorated the profound legacy of Ustad Hameed Khan, one of KSV's esteemed founders. 🙏
It was a privilege for the audience to be treated to extraordinary musical renditions. A mesmerising sitar trio, Smt Noorjahan Nadaf, Smt Shruti Archak & Shri Ravindra Potdar, who cast a spell with a rendition of Raag Ahir Bhairav before the headlining artist, Dr Krishnamurti Bhat, took the stage. His powerful yet nuanced interpretation of the captivating Raag Thodi left everyone spellbound. 🎸🎶👌
As the audience became lost in the melodies, we were reminded of the timeless power of music to uplift the human spirit. The program served as a fitting tribute to Ustad Hameed Khan's vision of using music as a medium to inspire and enlighten. An unforgettable morning of sheer musical brilliance! 🎼💫👌 |

This semester, KSV has been honoured to receive invaluable support from the esteemed EdelGive Foundation 🤝, generously empowering the transformative work of our Performing Arts Department 🎭🎼.
To commemorate this inspiring partnership, we organised a delightful event - the captivating "A Morning of Music" 🎶 - early in January. Amidst melodious performances 🎤, we were privileged to welcome distinguished guests who have been instrumental in shaping KSV's extraordinary journey over the years 🌟.
The morning bloomed into a musical extravaganza following enthralling recitals by our own talented students 🎵. Our phenomenally gifted rising star, the young Krishna Sutar 🌟🎤, entranced the audience with her soulful rendition of Raag Shudda Sarang. Closing on a euphoric high was the spellbinding Ustad Shafique Khan 🎶 who left all spellbound with his breathtaking interpretation of Raag Madhuvanti, accompanied masterfully on the tabla by Ustad Nisar Ahmed's virtuosic skills 🎵.
The air resonated with the magic of music 🔮, a powerful testament to the transformative impact of collaborative support and partnerships. We remain eternally grateful to the EdelGive Foundation for nurturing the boundless artistic spirit 🙏. |

For the second consecutive year, KSV's campus came alive with a spectacular performing arts extravaganza organised by the Kannada Cultural Department. 🎭🎉🎊 Celebrating local talent, the colourful program featured our very own students alongside talented local youth groups enthralling the audience with a dazzling array of folk dances and music. 💃🏻🕺🏻🎵
The event was an unparalleled success, providing a wonderful platform for our students to showcase their artistic skills and passion for music. 🎶 We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Kannada Cultural Department for their generous sponsorship and invaluable support in making this community-centred cultural celebration possible. 🙏🏻
Truly a tribute to our region's vibrant heritage, the program exemplified how the power of performing arts transcends boundaries to unite people. Volunteers Change Lives with Tools and Toil

We feel incredibly fortunate to have welcomed two energetic and dedicated volunteer teams from AMISTAD CASIRA this year. 😃 Comprised of retired individuals from Quebec, Canada, their altruistic efforts since mid-January have made a tremendous difference. 💪 The AMISTAD CASIRA volunteers have been diligently constructing a much-needed new classroom at KSV. 🔨 Their steadfast work is transforming our campus by creating additional learning spaces that will greatly benefit both students and teachers. We are amazed by their commitment and the significant positive impact they are having on the school community. 👏 Words cannot express our heartfelt gratitude for the selfless service of these extraordinary volunteers. Their labour of love is improving educational infrastructure and inspiring hope for a brighter future. 🌟 We deeply appreciate their invaluable contributions in strengthening our mission of empowering young lives through quality education.
